How to save and restore data, transfer license or change computer?

To back up your data, which encompasses accounts, scenarios, filters, and license information, all you need to do is copy the data folder onto your chosen backup device, be it a USB key, cloud storage, or hard drive. Once you've acquired a new computer, you can easily restore the backup by placing it in the same location, regardless of whether the software version on the new computer differs from the original.

WHICH VERSION ARE YOU USING?

You are using a version 9 or newer:

Starting from version 9, Automatic Email Manager offers a convenient tool for backing up and restoring your data. To access this feature, simply navigate to the left menu and click on 'Tools'. Then, select the 'Backup and restore' button:

Menu tools to backup

Click on backup and restore data

Follow screen instructions

For any reason, if you can't access the tool to backup in Automatic Email Manager then use the manual method for version 8 below.

You are using a version 8 or older:

For the previous version, you have to copy manually the data folder to the new computer:

Copy this folder:

C:\ProgramData\Namtuk\AEMx\

note: AEMx can be AEM4 / AEM5 / AEM6 / AEM7 / AEM8, depending on the version you were running.

To the new computer, at exactly same place (even if you upgrade):

C:\ProgramData\Namtuk\AEMx\

IMPORTANT NOTE: When you open your Windows file explorer it is possible that you don't see the folder c:\programdata, because by default it is a hidden folder in Windows, you have to enter the folder name in the address bar on top of the file explorer:

Final step: Install the latest version of Automatic Email Manager

If you want to install an older version, you have to contact us with your license information

NOTE: If you want to upgrade from a previous version 6 or 5 or 4 and you had run Automatic Email Manager on new computer before copying the old data, it will not be imported, you need to quit first Automatic Email Manager (menu file, then quit), and delete manually the file:
C:\ProgramData\Namtuk\AEM9\Accounts.xml
Then restart Automatic Email Manager.
