Download stops after 1,000 emails
Modified on Fri, 2 Oct at 4:06 PM
Symptoms
With a Microsoft 365 (Office 365) or Exchange account, new emails are no longer processed once the mailbox contains about 1,000 emails.
Cause
With these account types, Automatic Email Manager retrieves and processes the 1,000 most recent emails per check. If processed emails stay in the mailbox, they fill this batch and newer emails may be left out.
Solution
Add an action to your scenario so processed emails no longer count in the next batch:
- Mark email as read: use it together with the account option Get only unread emails.
- Move email: send processed emails to an archive folder.
- Delete email: remove processed emails after a set number of days.
Add the action
- Open the scenario used by your account.
- Click Add action.
- In Manage email on server, select Mark email as read, unread, answered, urgent…, Move email, or Delete email.
- Set the options and save.
Tip: Moving or deleting emails also keeps your mailbox small, which improves overall performance.
Note: Emails already waiting in the mailbox are processed in batches of 1,000. Once older emails are marked as read, moved, or deleted, the next ones are picked up at the following check.
